VISIT TO COMMEMORATE THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE CHESTER HOUSE ESTATE, WELLINGBOROUGH, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
HRH The Princess Royal was welcomed to Chester House Estate by Lord-Lieutenant, James Saunders Watson Esq. The Visit was to commemorate the official opening of the Chester House Estate, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
The Chester House Estate is a nationally significant heritage site, being one of the few places in the country which can demonstrate over 10,000 years of human activity. The unique selling point of The Chester House Estate is summed up in the words “10,000 years of Northamptonshire’s heritage brought to life”.
The estate currently offers a free to enter heritage visitor attraction, history interpretation, one of the largest Archaeological Resource Centre in the world, volunteer and community engagement, wedding and corporate venue hire, A restaurant and café, artisan shopping courtyard, a bed and breakfast offering, community farm shop, year-round events programme and outdoor play area.
Before unveiling a plaque and officially opening the site, Her Royal Highness toured the Estate, met with members of the Chester House Estate team and dedicated volunteers.
