ROYAL VISIT TO OBSERVE THE SECURITY INSTITUTE NEXT GENERATION PROGRAM UNDERTAKE HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING FOR THE TEENAGERS FROM THE VOLUNTEER POLICE CADETS

Since 2018, The Security Institute has been hosting teenagers at a variety of security shows to demonstrate the vast array of career opportunities available in the sector.

On 6 April 2022, the Volunteer Police Cadet group from Kettering participated in a hostile environment training package normally delivered to NGO and Charity workers required to deploy to fragile countries to deliver aid or support refugees. The security role is to prepare the aid workers for difficult situations that they may encounter. This scaled down version of that training will teach the children about trauma first aid, dealing with hostile crowds and remaining calm under pressure in a variety of exercises.

The Volunteer Police Cadets are the primary partner in the Next Gen program.

Northants Emergency Service Cadets are affiliates of Volunteer Police Cadets.  They are the first Tri-Service Cadet force in the county and are affiliated to VPC, National Fire Cadets and Northamptonshire associations of youth clubs.

They service young people from 13-18 years of age across the county in six separate units.

Cadets have a three-hour unit night where they learn about the Tri-Services as well as receive inputs from external partners on self-development and internal specialists from across the three services.
