VISIT TO NORTHGATE SCHOOL ARTS COLLEGE – THE BEEHIVE BY HRH THE PRINCESS ROYAL ON 14 SEPTEMBER 2021
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal The Bee Hive which is the 6th form provision for Northgate School Arts College which is a secondary school for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The focus of the visit was to see how employability skills are taught through the practical and vocational elements of The Bee Hive as well as forming part of the more structured curriculum supported by external qualifications.
The Bee Hive incorporates a number of businesses that are open to the community including a café, charity shop, garden shop and horticulture department and Wellbeing centre which are staffed by the students, supported by Job Coaches who teach the young people the skills required to gain employment in these areas.
