VISIT TO OFF THE STREET NN AT THE HIND HOTEL, WELLINGBOUGH
HRH The Princess Royal visited Wellingborough on 16th February, 2024 to Learn about the work of OTS.
The Charity was started in August 2021 after the tragic death of a local 16-year-old, due to knife crime.
Co-founders are Ravaun Jones and Jane Capps.
Off The Streets NN discovered that critical bleed kits were needed and proceeded to fundraise for these.
They placed them in key areas, registering them all with East Midlands Ambulance Service and ensuring they are public accessible.
They work with Police and other Authorities to ensure public safety and connection, with other charities and organisations as collaboration is key.
Off The Streets NN then connected with Meditech Global who offered to train them on these kits, which quickly progressed to training community members.
The young people workshop’s quickly followed and after speaking with an engineering company, the permanent fixed Amnesty Bins were designed and rolled out.
Pictured is someone who has gone through the Critical Bleed Pack training receiving their certificate from HRH The Princess Royal.
To date OTS have 203 Bleed Kits across Northants, 4 of these being used to save lives in emergency situations.
OTS have trained 608 community members in Partnership with Meditech Global.
They have delivered workshops to over 6000 young people in various settings including youth groups and schools.
13 Amnesty Bins are placed across the County, over 3000 knives have been handed in/discarded safely
