VISIT TO ATTEND THE MND CARE SHOWCASE RECEPTION AT BOUGHTON HOUSE, KETTERING
HRH The Princess Royal was welcomed to Boughton House who were hosting the MND event by by His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch and Vice Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Morcea Walker MBE
Purpose of the event was to highlight the extent and breadth of the Care team’s work and to thank 60 supporters in attendance for their long-standing support of the MND Association in relation to our care work. All guests have provided significant financial support via making personal donations or undertaking fundraising activities.
In the last 13 years MND Association have given over £14 million worth of Support Grants to help people living with MND. This money has ‘turned houses into homes’ through access adaptations like wet rooms and ramps, funded days out for children whose parents have MND, and supported non-paid carers. In addition, Care teams have loaned out communication aids, run a MND Connect helpline, given support to Children & Young People, provided MND information & educational material and organised a Wheelchair Support Service, amongst other work.
Her Royal Highness was invited to speak, to highlight the importance of the Association’s care work for people living with MND and to thank guests for their continued support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Her Royal Highness cut the cake marking the £14 million worth of support of MND.
