Celebrating 19 Years of Partnership with Transaid
Hankook is proud to mark 19 years of continuous partnership with Transaid, a charity dedicated to improving transport and access to healthcare and livelihoods in developing countries. This long-standing collaboration reflects Hankook’s commitment to making a meaningful difference beyond the tyre industry.
Supporting Life-Saving Initiatives
Over nearly two decades, Hankook has actively supported Transaid’s mission through a variety of initiatives. These include participation in international cycle challenges, generous donations of auction and raffle prizes at fundraising events, and the funding of four bicycle ambulances.
Empowering Communities in Africa
The bicycle ambulances, locally manufactured by an organisation that provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities, play a vital role in delivering timely medical assistance in rural areas of sub-Saharan Africa. In regions where access to healthcare is limited, these ambulances help save lives by ensuring patients can reach medical facilities quickly and safely.
A Commitment to Continue
To date, Hankook has raised over £140,000 to support Transaid’s life-saving work. The company remains committed to continuing this impactful partnership and supporting Transaid’s efforts to create safe, available, and sustainable transport solutions for those who need them most.
The official opening of Hankook House was marked by a special ceremony on 17th July 2025, attended by HRH The Princess Royal in her role as Patron of Transaid. As part of the event, Her Royal Highness unveiled a commemorative plaque alongside Chang Yool Han, Managing Director of Hankook Tyre UK, and local civic leaders. The unveiling symbolised Hankook’s long-term commitment to the UK market and its valued partnership with Transaid
